What is Pressed Steel (HDG or Stainless Steel) Water Tank Panel?
A Pressed Steel Panel is a structurally reinforced steel plate, formed by cold pressing into a ribbed shape (typically with an “X” or cross pattern), and used as the modular unit in bolted panel water tanks. These panels are available in different materials and standard sizes depending on regional specifications and project requirements.

Hot-Dip Galvanized (HDG) Pressed Steel Panel
Material: Mild steel ( Q235 B) with hot-dip galvanized (zinc) coating
Corrosion Resistance: Good – suitable for outdoor, industrial, and fire-fighting tanks
Application: General water storage, rainwater harvesting, irrigation, etc.

Stainless Steel Pressed Panel
Material: Stainless steel (commonly SS304 or SS316)
Corrosion Resistance: Excellent – suitable for potable water and harsh environments
Application: Drinking water tanks, food industry, hospitals, pharmaceuticals
Standard Sizes of Pressed Steel Water Tank Panels
Pressed steel water tank panels are manufactured in two primary standard sizes based on regional specifications. The Chinese National Standard (GB) uses a 1000 mm × 1000 mm panel, widely adopted in China, Southeast Asia, and parts of Africa, featuring metric bolt hole layouts and typically complying with GB 50268 or equivalent standards. In contrast, the British Standard (BS 1564) panel measures 1220 mm × 1220 mm (or 4′ × 4′) and is commonly used in the UK, Middle East, Africa, and other ex-Commonwealth regions. These panels follow an imperial hole layout and, although BS 1564:1975 has been officially withdrawn, it remains a widely referenced standard in the global water tank industry.

Pressed steel water tank panel holes optional: Both 1000×1000 mm and 1220×1220 mm pressed steel panels follow standard hole diameter and standard hole spacing — 76.9 mm and 76.25 mm respectively — ensuring reliable alignment and assembly. However, we understand that projects may require non-standard layouts. To meet various needs, we have 6 sets of hole-drilling molds in stock, allowing us to offer fast and flexible customization for special flange patterns, retrofit replacements, or OEM designs. Whether you need standard or tailored configurations, we are fully equipped to deliver with precision and efficiency.

Pressed steel water tank panel types
Pressed steel water tank panels can differ by flange angle (90° or 45°) and by reinforcement pattern (X-type or custom embossing). These variations ensure that the panels can meet different engineering, installation, and structural requirements. We supply all types and support full customization upon request.

HDG pressed steel water tank panel thickness over 70 micrometers
Our hot-dip galvanized (HDG) pressed steel water tank panels feature a zinc coating thickness of over 70 micrometers, ensuring strong corrosion resistance for long-term outdoor and industrial use. This meets or exceeds standard anti-rust protection requirements for water storage systems.

Our hot-dip galvanized (HDG) pressed steel water tank panels are manufactured according to industry standards, with a zinc coating thickness of 70 micrometers. This provides reliable corrosion resistance for most environments. If your project requires enhanced protection, customized zinc thicknesses are also available upon request.
Pressed Steel Water Tank Panel Fabrication Capability
We offer full in-house fabrication for pressed steel water tank panels, covering standard and customized sizes. Our production lines support panel thicknesses ranging from 2.0 mm to 6.0 mm, meeting various structural and capacity requirements.
Notably, we have the capability to manufacture heavy-duty panels up to 6 mm thick, ideal for large-capacity tanks, high water pressure applications, or demanding environments. This makes us a reliable supplier for both standard and reinforced tank designs.
Customizable Pressed Steel Water Tank Panel Colors
Our pressed steel water tank panels are made from high-quality Q235 carbon steel as the base material. They can be finished with hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) for corrosion protection, or coated in custom colors. For example, white panels are treated with polyester powder coating, while black panels are finished with epoxy bitumen paint. Color and coating customization is available upon request to meet both functional and aesthetic project needs.
