A Pressed Steel Panel is a structurally reinforced steel plate, formed by cold pressing into a ribbed shape (typically with an “X” or cross pattern), and used as the modular unit in bolted panel water tanks. These panels are available in different materials and standard sizes depending on regional specifications and project requirements.

Pressed steel water tank panels are manufactured in two primary standard sizes based on regional specifications. The Chinese National Standard (GB) uses a 1000 mm × 1000 mm panel, widely adopted in China, Southeast Asia, and parts of Africa, featuring metric bolt hole layouts and typically complying with GB 50268 or equivalent standards. In contrast, the British Standard (BS 1564) panel measures 1220 mm × 1220 mm (or 4′ × 4′) and is commonly used in the UK, Middle East, Africa, and other ex-Commonwealth regions. These panels follow an imperial hole layout and, although BS 1564:1975 has been officially withdrawn, it remains a widely referenced standard in the global water tank industry.

Pressed steel water tank panels can differ by flange angle (90° or 45°) and by reinforcement pattern (X-type or custom embossing). Our pressed steel water tank panels are made from high-quality Q235 carbon steel as the base material. They can be finished with hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) for corrosion protection, or coated in custom colors. For example, white panels are treated with polyester powder coating, while black panels are finished with epoxy bitumen paint. Color and coating customization is available upon request to meet both functional and aesthetic project needs.
